Relevant Podcast - By Caley Ortman

I hate radio morning shows with a passion. I really do. Over 95% of them are not funny at all, which is ironic, because over 95% of them find themselves just hilarious.

It is also hard to find a good Christian morning show. I was not looking for a 24-hour Bible study or the “we’re Christian and we’re always ridiculously happy” show. I was looking for a Christian show that is an honest look at culture and news (and not just CHRISTIAN culture and news) and an engagement with how it affects faith and life. And then I found the Relevant Podcast.

Released once a week by the editors of Relevant magazine (also a stellar publication), the Relevant Podcast covers news and entertainment releases, and also features in-studio performances and interviews with authors, speakers, and a variety of people involved in movements for social change.

And the witty banter throughout is good enough in itself to tune in every week.

And did I mention that it’s free?

It is hard to find media that is relevant to our faith lives as young adults (pun intended). Don’t make it harder on yourself. Tune in to the Relevant Podcast.

Are you interested in free entertainment? I am!

While perusing the iTunes Store for some free podcasts I decided to try out one called “Cute with Chris.” I immediately became addicted. In a good way.

Chris Leavins, host of the video podcast, along with his plastic pony, Colty, posts two new video podcasts a week on cutewithchris.com.

Chris often shows pictures of cute pets, reads fan letters, and performs readings of popular song lyrics. It’s hard to explain, but you’ll love it immediately. If you really love it you can even vote on the podcast’s “Cutedown” where you vote to see who is cuter. It could be an eyeless dog, kitten calendar models, or even a stack of towels. “I like towels.”

Be aware that there is some mature content in this podcast, and probably isn’t suitable for some people, AKA people who don’t like to laugh.

Recently someone sent Chris an email, which he read in the podcast, that said that his show was amateur. Chris took that pretty personally and did a live stage show recently in Los Angeles, the tickets sold out in under two hours.

“Suck it, Rhonda!”
